Vignette Leaving Cannibal Town! Citizens in Mourning!
Vignette, the creative ingénue that has been responsible for cannibal town’s prolific playhouses, centers of storytelling and art unlike anything found in hell. Her magnus opus, The Spiderlight Theatre, hasn’t had a showing that hasn’t sold out since 1998, which itself was the first time the theatre hadn’t been packed in decades. However, she appears to be growing tired of the confines of the physical stage and has set her sights on a far broader audience.Last night, after the final showing of the critically acclaimed Eat Glass, Vignette herself made an appearance on stage following the final bows. A colleague that had been in attendance said that the sight of the almost ethereal spider demon sent a hush across the crowd, very few have seen her in person, let alone upon the stage, but apparently the setting suited her and captivated the audience that had just moments before giving a standing ovation. In was to this that she made her announcement, one that nigh all of Cannibal Town must have heard by now.“People of Cannibal Town, my friends, my actors, my crew, my audience. I come before you tonight, on a such a wonderful night, with an announcement. It is one that is both bitter and sweet. For I, Vignette, will be leaving Cannibal Town by the end of the week. It has been wonderful telling all of you my stories, and I intend for them to continue to be told in my absence, but I have no new ones to grace your stages with. However, I promise that this will not be the last story of mine that you will have the ability to bear witness to. For you see, I am not just leaving, but I am going. Starting next week I will begin working with Vox, of the Vees, my stories will no longer find themselves limited to the stages of Cannibal Town but shall be broadcast across Hell for all to enjoy!”As citizens of Cannibal Town, we share in her bittersweet sentiment, and we wish her luck in her new venture. The Inside Scoop On Her Deal With Vox
Vignette found herself fascinated by Vox early in her time in Hell. She watched him climb from a small newcomer on the overlord scene up unto one of the top overlords of Hell and as she did her fixation only ever grew. She saw the audience he could reach, the masses he could pull, and she could only think one thing, how might they reach new heights together.However, early in her time in hell, she released ownership of her soul to Rosie, and was bound by this contract to keep her storytelling in Cannibal Town. And so, for a time, she stayed put and grew her audience at home. Eventually she maintained such a large and lasting audience for her stories that she managed to convince Rosie that she had outgrown the stage and needed to move to the film and with that she set off to strike a deal with Vox.Vox would trade a number of minor souls, an amount equivalent to Vignette’s worth plus the worth of the souls she herself owned for ownership of Vignette and by proxy the souls she owns. However, with this came a caveat, a gamble. Vignette would surely pull more eyes to his network, but, should she achieve a total number of views across a single calendar year that was double the number of views the previous year, she would not just be granted ownership of her soul but a partner position within the Vees, becoming a fourth Vee.This of course, has its stipulations. The most notable being that she must have total creative control over the projects she embarks upon in addition to agency over budgeting and the timeslots of her shows. In the event that Vox did anything to sabotage her ability to gain views, the deal would be void and Vignette would receive total autonomy of her soul.
Her Life Before Hell
Before her death Vignette, then Jenny Reynolds, had been one of the few female writers in Hollywood in the 50s. However, despite getting to put her words in the scripts she was allowed neither credit nor the space to pitch her own ideas in large part due to her quite sexist boss.Because of this, Jenny began to work on writing her own tv show pitch and pilot script that she intended to take to an agent and sell to a studio under a pen name, claiming to be a man rather than a woman. She very nearly accomplished this however, near the end of revising her script for the third time she accidentally brought it with her to work after forgetting that she had left a copy in her bag.Through a collection of mishaps her boss found the script and was impressed with the work but when Jenny asked if she would get the credit for the idea or the ability to continue writing it he laughed in her face, telling her that she could eat her little heart out but that there was no way a show written by a woman would ever hit the small or big screen on his watch.When she then demanded he return her script he again laughed at her, reminding her that per the contract she had signed, the company they worked for owned all the writing she did while working there and therefore owned the script, she couldn’t sell it if she wanted to.Jenny felt defeated and enraged in equal measure and this became her breaking point. The following day she returned to work with a few extra tools and went to work on her plan. She first started a fire in the scripts room, burning many copies of unfinished scripts, before heading to boss’s office where she shot him several times, intentionally incapacitating him but leaving him alive and in pain before she broke open his ribs and pulled out his still beating heart. He said to eat her heart out, and she wasn’t one to disobey a direct order.Once he was dead beneath her and she had had her fill, she perished in the flames and fell to hell.

Every thread is it's own story line unless otherwise discussed. When it comes to AUs I am glad to roleplay them but often prefer to hash out the details of the world prior to starting.

I request that there is a discussion before an rp starts on what the dynamic the characters is. I do not enjoy most threads where characters have just met as they tend to die very quickly.
